As CEO of Kodiak Solutions, Derek fosters a growth mindset and innovation throughout the company. Prior to Kodiak, Derek was a partner at Crowe LLP for nearly two decades, where he served as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, among other leadership roles.

He founded and led its healthcare consulting practice, building customer relationships and creating value in the areas of finance, revenue cycle, and risk management. In 2005, Derek invented Revenue Cycle Analytics, patented software used by many of the largest health systems in the United States for analyzing and forecasting net patient service revenue. He began his career at a Big Four firm, focusing on health sciences advisory services and healthcare audit. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and he serves on Kelley’s Dean’s Council.

He is a CPA in Indiana and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In his free time, Derek’s innovative spirit flows into musical performances with his band, Cold Step.
