We have a platform for that

The phrase, “There’s an app for that,” became part of the U.S. lexicon in 2009 when Apple first used it to promote its new iPhone 3. Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics has been around longer than that—patented in 2006. At the time, we didn’t promote the creation of RCA with a catch phrase. Maybe we should have.

 

Nineteen years later, on the eve of RCA’s 20th anniversary and the upcoming launch of RCA Next, the next generation of RCA technology, we have a second chance. I’m going with, “We have a platform for that.”

 

Why? RCA Next isn’t a single app. It’s the engine behind a platform of interconnected, interdependent, and integrated apps that gives users ultimate control over how they manage, report, and improve their net revenue performance.

 

What makes the RCA Next and the Kodiak platform so powerful is the fact that they’re built on the actual net revenue data from 2,100 hospitals and 300,000 physician users. Further, each user has had a hand in and will continue to have a hand in how we can make RCA Next and the Kodiak platform even better.

 

We’ll be digging into all of RCA Next’s user-driven applications from a platform perspective at the Kodiak Summit Terrain event to be held Oct. 27-29, 2025, at the Brown Palance Hotel & Spa in Denver, Colo.

New file load functionality in RCA Next gives your team the ability to view the status of file loads for each day loaded, review a more comprehensive error log when files fail during the loading process, and delete files from the user interface without assistance for RCA support.

 

Want an easier way to connect new care sites?

Enhanced functionality in RCA Next for supporting facility and mapping enables your team to update facility structure through the user interface, automate the addition of new facilities and their account numbers, mapping codes, and reserve level through facility groups, and import bulk mapping with error reporting.

 

Want more eyeballs on daily balancing?

New daily balancing administration functionality in RCA Next lets your team review, edit, and approve daily balancing entries at the file level, choose from multiple options for uploading controller report totals, and a single location from which all users can review the status of daily balancing.

 

Need a finer cut of your contractual reserve calculations?

New integrations in RCA Next of additional data for more precise contractual reserve calculations enables your team to separate calculations for standard versus large-balance accounts and perform its calculations at the insurance plan/DRG level and/or insurance plan/patient type level.
