Bio

John Donaldson is an accomplished growth leader, having served as CFO and driven the successful growth of five private equity-backed businesses. Prior to his CFO role at Kodiak, John served as CFO of SugarCRM, an enterprise software platform for the customer experience market. While there, John helped grow revenue by more than 30% and drove operating efficiencies that resulted in EBITDA growth of more than 500%. 

Prior to his time at SugarCRM, John was CFO of Togetherwork Holdings, a group management software and payments platform. Under John’s leadership, Togetherwork completed 20 acquisitions and a highly successful financial sponsor exit through the company’s acquisition by GI Partners. Prior to Togetherwork, John was CFO of Community Investors, an association management software platform. Previously, John served as Executive Vice President and CFO of ALPS Holdings, and as Executive Vice President and CFO of Northstar Exchange Corporation. In each of these roles, John led all financing transactions and helped drive growth in the value of the firms through acquisitions and increased operating efficiencies. Earlier in his career, John was an investment banker with CS First Boston, A.G. Edwards, and Tucker Anthony Sutro. Currently, he also serves as Managing Principal of Bison Partners LLC, a financial consulting firm he founded in 2002. 

John holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University. He lives in Denver with his wife and five children and when not busy with work or family, John enjoys skiing, coaching lacrosse, and enjoying Colorado and all its outdoor offerings.
